Girls Basketball Preview

Coming off of back-to-back regional championships, B-CC’s girls’ basketball team’s youth shows no sign of slowing down.

“We lost a few valuable seniors after last year’s run, but given our team’s emphasis on youth and speed I think we’re in a great position to repeat our success from previous years and build on it,” said junior forward Jane McCarthy.

The Barons return ten players from last year’s roster, including starting point guard Lily Roberson, MoCo Sentinel First-Team All-County forward Ava Haraldsson, and the Sentinel’s Player of the Year Caroline Orza, all three of which are still juniors.

Despite the high levels of talent on the roster, head coach Ryan Ingalls says, "Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard. We have to make sure that we’re more prepared for gameday than the team in front of us.”

Ingalls’ focus will hopefully give the team the extra boost they need to get over the hump and make a run towards being the last team alive come March.
